Why Do We Calculate Lighting?
Creation of Lighting Account and Lighting Schedule
- In electrical installation projects, Lighting Calculation is made for each area separately in accordance with the usage, area, geometry and required illumination level of the room.
- According to the result of the calculation, it is determined how many of the desired luminaires will be used, what their power will be and how they will be placed in the room.
- "Lighting Calculation Schedule" is created with all the results obtained and one of these calculations is given in the project as an example.
- Lighting technique covers the calculation methods required to provide an economical and high quality illumination in a system.
- The average illuminance of the area to be illuminated is taken from the relevant table in accordance with the purpose of illumination and the type and quantity of the most suitable luminaire and bulb are calculated with the help of other data.
Lighting Calculation The following values must be determined for lighting calculation.
- Width of the room (a): The value written on the architectural project.
- Length of the room (b): The value written on the architectural project.
- Room height (H): It is specified in the architectural project.
- Reflection coefficients of room walls: Ceiling, Wall and Floor colours such as Light, Medium Dark, Dark, etc. - Distance between the luminaire and the surface to be illuminated (h): It is found by calculation.
- Working surface height: 0,85m.
- Illuminance level (E): It is determined from the table according to the intended use of the room.
