The 15 July Martyrs' Bridge is located on the Bosphorus Strait and connects the continents of Europe and Asia. Opened in 1973 as the Bosphorus Bridge, it was renamed in 2016 in memory of the martyrs who lost their lives during the attempted coup on 15 July. The bridge is one of Istanbul's landmarks and is travelled by thousands of vehicles every day.
