The Çanakkale Martyrs' Monument is located on the Gallipoli Peninsula of the Dardanelles and was built in 1915 in memory of the Turkish soldiers who lost their lives in the Battle of Gallipoli. Started in 1954 and completed in 1960, the monument is 41.7 metres high and sits on four large columns. The Martyrs' Monument attracts thousands of visitors every year and reflects the meaning and importance of the Çanakkale War.
