Galata Tower

The Galata Tower is located in the Galata neighbourhood of Istanbul and was built by the Genoese in the 14th century. The 66.9 metre high tower is one of the oldest and most iconic buildings in Istanbul. Offering visitors a magnificent view of Istanbul, Galata Tower is an important part of the city's historical and cultural heritage. The tower is also famous for Hazerfen Ahmet Çelebi's attempted flight from Galata Tower to Üsküdar in the 17th century.
